Former Student, Ben Sitler, Class of 2010, Designs Pavilion on Campus of Singapore University of Technology and Design
Former undergraduate student, Ben Sitler, Class of 2010, has realized his first “real” grid shell at the Singapore University of Technology and Design Campus. This spectacular project involved students and practitioners and is featured in the ASCE Journal, http://www.asce.org/CEMagazine/ArticleNs.aspx?id=23622326526. This project has a direct positive impact on the built environment.
Ben, whose advisor was Professor Sigrid Adriaenssens, did his senior thesis on the design of a grid shell. This design won the 2nd prize in the SEI (Structual Engineering Institute) student design competition in 2010.
The department is proud to congratulate Ben on this achievement.
