The University will remain closed Tuesday, April 17, for all non-essential personnel whose work days begin prior to 1 p.m.
An update will be posted on the Princeton home page by 1 p.m. for non-essential staff whose work days start after that time; those who normally report prior to 1 p.m. are not expected to come in. An update also will be available on University's weather emergency hotline, (609) 258-SNOW.
Essential employees are expected to report at their normal hours. The academic schedule will operate as normal.
The state of New Jersey continues to operate under a state of emergency due to flooding. Numerous state and local roads have been closed due to the weather conditions. According to local authorities, road closings in the area surrounding campus include: Alexander Road on both sides of Route 1; South Harrison Street between Faculty Road and Route 1; Washington Road east of Route 1; and Route 27 at River Road.
Route 1, Route 206, Princeton Pike/Mercer Street and Washington Road between Route 1 and Nassau Street are open. Live traffic reports are available on the New Jersey Department of Transportation website.
The University maintains an Emergency Preparedness website, which includes links to the Office of Human Resources' emergency weather policy and other emergency guidelines for the campus community (with flood and flash flood information from the Federal Emergency Management Agency).
A flood warning remains in effect for the area. The National Weather Service provides weather updates for central New Jersey on its website.
