Gas leak causing evacuation of some campus buildings

Some Princeton University campus buildings are being evacuated as a precaution after workers in the vicinity of William and Charlton streets ruptured a gas line this afternoon, according to the Department of Public Safety. Pedestrians should avoid the area until further notice.

Occupants of the Friend Center, the Computer Science Building, 185 Nassau St. (Lewis Center for the Arts) and 41 William St. (Princeton University Press and the Program in Teacher Preparation) are being evacuated. PSE&G utility workers and local law enforcement are at the site.   More information will be provided as it becomes available.

No threatening materials were found in a sweep of the construction site of the New Chemistry Building on Princeton's campus after an unsubstantiated bomb threat was received there the morning of Friday, March 12.
