about us

Originally known as the Hindu Students Council, the group was revitalized in the fall of 2003, renamed the Princeton Hindu Satsangam, and has been a growing organization since then. These efforts originated with two students, Ritu Kamal '07 and Manish Abbi '08, who took the initiative and created a group dedicated to Hinduism on campus. In its first year, the group held speaker events, and co-sponsored various Indian activities. Over time, the group branched out to have bi-weekly meetings in the Interfaith Prayer Room of Murray-Dodge Hall, where many pujas and festivals have been organized. Currently, we meet for Bhajan Satsangs every Sunday at 5PM in the Interfaith Prayer Room and Bhagavad Gita Study Groups every Wednesday at 6PM in the 3rd floor of Murray Dodge. In the future, the Hindu Satsangam aims to continue fulfilling its purpose - that of providing a spiritual fellowship for Hindus and other seekers and interested students at Princeton.

princeton hindu alumni network (phan)

PHAN is a joint initiative of the Princeton Hindu Satsangam and Hindu Life program within Princeton's Office of Religious Life. It serves as a way for Hindu alumni to maintain a link with Princeton University, the current Hindu community at Princeton, and with each other. It is a way for us to hear more about each other's experiences on campus and ideas for the future of Hinduism here. More information on ways to get involved in PHAN to come.
