The next meeting will be announced soon.
Weekly (exact day and time to be announced soon) during dinner at Terrace Club. Whether Arabic is your native language or you can barely babble out a sentence, come enjoy delicious food and great company!
If you have videos related to the Arab world from home or that you can get from embassies, consulates or tourism agencies we could show them on Tigernet TV.
Along the same idea, we could do open screenings at the Student Center or watch them during a study break.
If you've taken pictures or stories from trips to the Arab world, we could display them on our website and let online visitors take virtual tours :-)
We are open to suggestions: if you would like to organize or just be involved in a cultural magazine, a play, or a musical representation... if you want to play "tawla" (backgammon) and you're looking for partners or you are interested in organizing a tournament... if you would like to gather a few people and cook a nice Arabic meal together or go out to a restaurant, movie, play or party... let us know and we'll be happy to work on the idea with you.
We are selling T-shirts to fund activities during the year, such as getting speakers, organizing study breaks, and other educational and cultural events :-) The T-shirts have been very popular: we've sold many on campus and a number of them off campus, both to people who wanted to help us and those who just really liked the design. They were designed by two Arab Society alumnis (Naïm Antaki and Christopher Dolan). We are selling them for $12 plus delivery costs if applicable; for the latter, we usually go with the $3 US Postal Service express delivery method but if you prefer other arrangements just let us know.
Description: the T-shirts are white Hanes Beefy-Ts that come in L or XL. The front features a small Princeton seal and "Princeton" written in Arabic; the back has a blue and gold mosaic and a very nice poetic quotation of strength and peace both in Arabic and English. To quote a cook at PJ's Pancakes, "These T-shirts are jazzy man!". If you are interested in buying one or more of them, email us or talk to one of the officers.
