Welcome to Academic Services
We support the academic mission of the University through services such as high performance research computing, instructional technologies, website creation, a broadcast production studio, event recording, classroom A/V support, collaboration and conferencing, digital archiving and a multimedia lab.
We strive to form partnerships with relevant academic communities in an ongoing effort to understand their needs and how those are best served. Our principal clients are professors and instructors who use information technology in their teaching, research and outreach, whether in the classroom, laboratory, office or online. We also support students and staff who use technology to support their academic and related work.
Our major goals this year
Academic Services' work for the 2011-2012 academic year is focused around the following goals:
Work with departments to develop a set of secure and reliable data feeds that facilitate the development of websites that provide information about the University in an easy-to-use format.
Carry out a web content management system needs assessment and implement systems that will support the needs of the University over the next 5 - 10 years.
Enhance instructional technology outreach and support for faculty and support staff.
Launch the new Data Center.
Offer a media management solution for Broadcast Center customers.
Upgrade and enhance our course management system.
Establish a primary archive for graduate theses and research data.
