Forrestal Campus Biking Directions
- From Princeton head SE (downhill) towards Lake Carnegie and cross the lake using the bridges at Alexander Street, Washington Road or Harrison Street.
- Turn left onto the towpath and bike with the lake on your left and the canal on your right. If you joined the towpath at Alexander then you'll need to cross both Washington and Harrison as you head north.
- After crossing Harrison St. continue until you reach some bridges. Cross the first one and then cross over the canal via the bridge on your right.
- Go through the parking lot and out onto Mapleton Road. Millstone apartments opposite are Princeton University housing. Turn left onto Mapleton Road.
- After about 0.5 miles/800m there is a 'driveway' on the right with a chain across the entrance. This is an emergency access route and closed to vehicles, but you can get your bike around the side of the chain.
- At the top of the access road you're in the residential Sayre Drive. This road is a loop and you can cut across on a path around/under various 'emergency vehicle' chains (watch out for these at night!). Just go straight till you come out on the road the other side. Turn right and immediately left, heading for Route 1. Alternatively, you can turn right from the top of the access road and follow the road round.
- As you approach Route 1, there are access roads to and from Rt. 1 on either side - stay in the middle and the road goes under Rt. 1.
- To get to AOS and GFDL go past the guard hut and take the first right onto Forrestal Road. At the end of this road Sayre Hall (AOS) is on the left and GFDL is on the right.
- To get to PPPL, turn left at the guard hut and follow the road around the large field. At the junction with Campus Road, go straight on. There is a (manned) guard hut at the end of the road.
