Hodder Fellows
Four writers selected as the Lewis Center for the Arts’ 2012-13 Hodder Fellows will read on Wednesday, September 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the Berlind Theatre at McCarter Theatre Center. Poet James Arthur, fiction writer Melinda Moustakis, non-fiction writer Yasmine El Rashidi, and playwright A. Rey Pamatmat will begin their ten-month residencies at the Lewis Center by opening the 2012-13 Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series, which is free and open to the public.
Renowned poet Laura Kasischke and playwright and actor Wallace Shawn will read from their works as part of the Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series of the Program in Creative Writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts. The reading, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Berlind Theatre at the McCarter Theatre Center, is free and open to the public.
Two writers whose work spans the breadth of poetry, fiction, journalism and playwriting will read from their works as part of the Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series of the Program in Creative Writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts. Princeton student Maia ten Brink will also read from her poetry. The reading, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Berlind Theatre at the McCarter Theatre Center, is free and open to the public
James Fenton, acclaimed poet and scholar, will present a lecture entitled, “What Are We Going to Do about the New Philip Larkin?,” on Wednesday, November 28, at 4:30 p.m. at the Lewis Center for the Arts’ James M. Stewart ’32 Theater at 185 Nassau Street. The event, the 2012 Theodore H. Holmes ’51 and Bernice Holmes Lecture, is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception.
Student Readings
Students in the Lewis Center for the Arts’ world-renowned Program in Creative Writing will present new work at a reading on December 12 at 5:15 p.m. at Chancellor Green Rotunda. Students from fall workshops in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, screenwriting and literary translation will read from new work completed during the past semester. The reading, part of the Program in Creative Writing’s Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series is free and open to the public.
Booker Prize-winning fiction writer A.S. Byatt and National Book Award finalist and poet Alicia Ostriker will read from their works as part of the Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series of the Program in Creative Writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts. Princeton student Audrey H. Hall will also read from her recent translation work.
Bestselling author of Reading Lolita in Tehran Azar Nafisi and National Book Award-winning poet Nikky Finney will read from their works as part of the Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series of the Program in Creative Writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts. Princeton student Richard Gadsden will also read from his recent fiction work.
Award-winning fiction writer Joseph O’Neill and Honickman First Book Prize-winning poet Matthew Dickman will read from their works as part of the Althea Ward Clark W’21 Reading Series of the Program in Creative Writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts. Princeton student Lillian Li will also read from her recent fiction work.
