

Christina Lazaridi was nominated for an Academy Award® for her screenplay of “One Day Crossing”. The film premiered at the Museum of Modern Art as part of the “New Directors, New Films” series. Christina’s recent screenwriting projects include: the adaptation of a Truman Capote short story for Lester Persky Productions, “Bloodlines,” an adaptation for Argonauts Productions, (a US-France-Greece co-production), and the feature screenplay “Coming Up Roses” (slated for US production in 2010).
Other written work includes: “Julia and Ivan” a feature screenplay for Madstone Films, developed with producer Eva Kolodner (“Boy’s Don’t Cry”), “Searching for Myriam” (Winner, Euroscript Development Competition), and multiple script commissions from production companies in the US and Europe.
Lazaridi researched, wrote and co-produced the historical feature documentary “Varian and Putzi: a 20th Century Tale.” The film was directed by Academy Award® winner Richard Kaplan and premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Lazaridi also wrote and produced “Assignment: Rescue” a half hour documentary for Richard Kaplan Productions, narrated by Meryl Streep.
Writing Fellowships and Awards include: Multiple Media EU Development Awards, Academy Award nomination®, Polo Ralph Lauren Development Award , Euroscript Development Award, Chris Kazan Memorial Award, Milos Forman Screenwriting Award, Onassis Foundation Fellowship for the Arts, and a Kyveli-Horn Foundation Fellowship for the Arts.
Christina also teaches screenwriting at Columbia University’s Graduate Film Division. She is a Screenwriting Mentor for the Mediterranean Film Institute and the Al Badiah Foundation of the United Arab Emirates.
