Monica Youn is the author of two books of poetry: Barter (2003) and Ignatz (2010), which was a finalist for the National Book Award. Her poems have been widely published, including in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, and The Paris Review. She has been a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and a Witter Bynner Fellow of the Library of Congress and has been awarded residencies at Civitella Ranieri, the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center. She was a practicing lawyer for over a decade, most recently at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law School. She has previously taught poetry at Bennington College, Columbia University, and Pratt Institute.
