Forsythe has singlehandedly revolutionized the vocabulary of traditional ballet and brought dance to the center of artistic debate in the vanguards of theater and visual art. His work defies categorization and has changed the rules of the game in such diverse areas as performance, film, installation art and even web-based knowledge creation systems.
