Key / Frame
Showing of new performative dance works from Muscle Memory
Two students from the Dance/Visual Arts fall 2013 Muscle Memory course will present Key / Frame, a showing of new performative works, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. The performance will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Lucas Gallery at 185 Nassau Street and is free and open to the public.
Visual Arts students in the Muscle Memory course create sculptures that relate directly to the body and compel performance, interaction, and movement, while Dance students in the course create dances that are informed by garments, portable objects and props. The two classes come together periodically to compare notes and consider how context informs perceptions of sculpture as performance and the body as object.
