Jennifer Way Rawe was a member of Twyla Tharp Dance from 1975-1988. During this time, Ms Way Rawe performed throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. She was a cast member for Tharp television and film projects including Hair, Ragtime, and Amadeus and assisted Ms. Tharp in rehearsals of Push Comes to Shove with Mikhael Baryshnikov for American Ballet Theatre, Brahms Handel for New York City Ballet, and assisted in the Broadway production of Singin in the Rain. Ms. Way Rawe has been a reconstructionist of Tharp's work for Hubbard Street Dance Company, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Dancewave's Kid's Company, Sarah Lawrence College, Marymount Manhattan College, Juilliard, and Columbia College, in Chicago. Additionally, she coordinated and taught numerous workshops and master classes for the Tharp Company.
In addition to Ms. Way Rawe's work with Twyla Tharp, she has taught master classes and residencies at Juilliard, Concord Academy, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Dance Exchange, in Sydney Australia, Long Island University, University of the Arts, and Ohio State University. From 1990-1997, she served on the dance faculty at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, teaching technique and repertory, and from 1999 to present, she has served as the Company rehearsal director and technique teacher for Dancewave's Kid's Company in Brooklyn, New York.
Ms. Way Rawe received her BFA from Ohio State University and has studied with Jean Way, Duard Farquhar, Richard Thomas, Barbara Fallis, Merce Cunningham, Viola Farber, Dan Wagoner, and Maggie Black.
