E. Patrick Johnson

E. Patrick Johnson is a professor in the Department of African American Studies and the Department of Performance Studies at Northwestern University. His areas of specialization include race, class, gender, and performance. He is the author of Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South (2008) and Appropriating Blackness: Performance and the Politics of Authenticity (2003). He is also a coeditor of Black Queer Studies: A Critical Anthology (2005). He has performed artistic work in Australia and North America.
