Deborah A. Paredez is an associate professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin. She is also the director of the Center for Mexican American Studies at UT Austin. Her areas of specialization include race and performance. She is the author of Selenidad: Selena, Latinos, and the Performance of Memory (2009).
