Fall 2013 Comprehensive Visual Arts Exhibition

The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Visual Arts will continue its 2013-14 season of exhibitions and screenings with a showing of recent student work in drawing, painting, video and other media created during the fall semester.  The exhibition in the Lucas Gallery runs through February 21; a reception will be held on February 4 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.  The gallery is located on the second floor at 185 Nassau Street and is open on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

The exhibition will feature work created over the past four months by undergraduate students at all levels, some of whom are focusing on a degree or certificate in visual arts and others majoring in a range of other disciplines who are exploring the arts through a course or two. Fall courses included drawing, photography, graphic design, painting, sculpture, and scenic design. Also included in the show are artists' books created by juniors in the Visual Arts Program. The book projects deal with formal and thematic issues that each has been exploring independently in their studios.

Beginning in March and continuing through May the Lucas Gallery will feature a series of exhibitions by individual seniors in the Program. Screenings of senior projects in film will be held in May.
