Frances Stark is a writer and artist whose works take many liminal forms: word fragments, collages, sketches, articles of clothing, or rambling powerpoint ruminations. Stark’s work is made during the snatches of time she finds between the demands of being a single mother, traveling, teaching and earning a living. In a recent interview she remarked “I am envious of those who can deliver nuggets in tightly wrapped packages. The economy of Emily Dickinson is a huge inspiration.”
