Amy Yao

Lecturer in Visual Arts in the Lewis Center for the Arts

Amy Yao (b. 1977) lives and works in Los Angeles and New York. She received her MFA in sculpture in 2007 from Yale University School of Art, and BFA with Honors in 1999 from Art Center College of Design. Recent solo exhibitions include: I don't care about anything else, Paradise Garage, Venice, CA (2013); Skeletons on a Bender, 47 Canal, New York, NY (2013); Mistress, oooof! Les Bourses..., Green Gallery, Milwaukee, WI (2011); and The Real Housewives, New Jerseyy, Basel, Switzerland (2010). Recent group shows include: Looking Back: The Eighth White Columns Annual, selected by Pati Hertling, White Columns, NY (2014); D.R.E.S.S.I.N.G, SPACE Studios, London, UK (2014); Home and Gardens, Freedman Fitzpatrick, Los Angeles, CA (2013); Emergency Cheesecake, Whitney Museum of Art, New York, NY (2012); Looking Back: The Sixth White Columns Annual, selected by Ken Okiishi and Nick Mauss, White Columns, NY (2011); Freaks and Geeks, curated by castillo/corrales, Air de Paris, Paris, France (2011); and Greater New York, P.S.1/ MoMA, New York, NY (2010).
