Ben Cook wins Chambliss medal for AAS Presentation
Congratulations to Ben Cook for winning the Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Awards at the January 2014 AAS meeting. The Astronomy Achievement Student Awards are given to recognize exemplary research by undergraduate and graduate students who present at one of the poster sessions at the meetings of the AAS. Awardees are honored with a Chambliss medal. The Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Awards are named for longtime AAS member Carlson R. Chambliss, who taught at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania from 1970 to 2003. Dr. Chambliss not only donated the funds to mint the medals, but also designed them himself. Ben was one of six undergraduates awarded this honor.
