  Dear Horizon Wimba Customer --

The following is a Technical Bulletin for Horizon Wimba customers using Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.0 who will be upgrading their operating systems to the NEW Service Pack 2.  Please feel free to distribute this bulletin to anyone who may benefit from this information.

In this issue:

• Windows XP SP2 Update & Support

Windows XP Service Pack 2 contains significant NEW additions to Internet Explorer 6.0 with pop-up blocking and Windows Security Center including Windows Firewall, that can have an effect on users experiences with the Horizon Wimba products. We have thoroughly tested these Windows XP SP2 additions on all of our products. With a couple of clicks users will continue to utilize these new features while not effecting the performance of the products. Note that the new pop-up blocking only applies to users who use IE 6.0 on Windows XP.

Windows Firewall
--------------------------------------------------------------

The first addition is a built-in firewall (Windows Firewall, part of Windows Security Center) that may prevent your users from accessing certain features of OpenCampus, OpenRoom, EduVoice and WebLab. If you enabled the firewall (it is enabled by default), you may be prompted with a Windows Security Alert dialog box stating: "To help protect your computer, Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program. Do you want to keep blocking this program?"

The Fix:
When prompted, users should click 'Unblock' to allow the programs to communicate through the firewall. This will allow streaming audio and video to move to and from the application without issue.

Pop-up Blocker
--------------------------------------------------------------

The second addition to Internet Explorer is a pop-up blocker feature that prevents unwanted browser windows from opening. This also prevents many of the OpenCampus/OpenRoom features from working correctly. Note that Mozilla and Netscape are not affected by the addition of the new Internet Explorer 6.0 pop-up blocker.

The Fix:
Users will be presented with an info bar that says 'Pop-up blocked.' Choose 'Click here for options...' and select 'Always allow pop-ups from this site...' from the drop down menu. If users wish, they can also disable pop-up blocking in Internet Explorer under the 'Tools' menu.

--------------------------------------------------------------

If you experience additional technical problems, you can access online contextual help 24/7 by clicking on any 'Help' link within OpenCampus/OpenRoom product. As always, we recommend that all users periodically run the Setup Wizard or Diagnostic tool before using any of the products to ensure a seamless experience.
