David Hopkins, Director

David Hopkins has been with the University since 1993. He has been the Director of the Broadcast Center since 2008.  He was formerly the manager of the New Media Center. David has been working in video production for over 20 years. He lives and breathes technology. He is always looking at the latest in cutting edge technology to see how it can benefit the Academic community. David graduated from North Central University. He has been a member of the New Media Consortium, the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation, and Infocomm.

Lance Herrington, Sr. Video Producer/Editor

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Lance has been creating videos at Princeton University for over ten years. As part of the Broadcast Center team, Lance works directly with clients to help them turn an idea into a finished video.  Specializing in design and animation, he strives to bring a creative flair to each project.

His audio and video work has been exhibited at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, the Santozeum in Santorini, Greece, and our very own Princeton Art Museum.  Most recently, his animation work was included in the feature documentary film Bending Steel.

Jim Grassi, Video Producer/Editor

Jim Grassi joined the BC staff after three years with the University’s Media Services Department.  Jim is a knowledgeable professional experienced in directing, producing, scriptwriting, camera operation, editing and web streaming.

Prior to arrival at Princeton, Jim served as a Television Production Facilitator for a Department of Defense contractor.

Jim graduated from Rutgers University and attended New York University where he obtained a certificate in Film/Video production.

Lisa Jackson, Video Producer/Editor

Lisa Jackson joined the Broadcast Center in 2008 and has directed, produced, and edited various live events, departmental videos, and online course offerings. In addition, she teaches a digital media bootcamp for Princeton students interested in a journalism career, conducts  hands-on video production workshops, and teaches video courses as an adjunct instructor at Rider University.  

Prior to joining the Broadcast Center, Lisa produced award-winning documentaries for the educational market, developed video components for corporate training programs, and worked behind the camera in the sports and entertainment industry. Lisa is a graduate of Rider University.

Dan Kearns, Broadcast Engineer

Dan Kearns has been with the Broadcast Center studio since its opening.  He came to Princeton with over 20 years experience directing and engineering numerous live broadcasts to television and radio outlets in the national and international markets.  In addition, he has completed videos for the educational, non-profit, commercial, and tourism industries.
An award-winning educator in television production, he enjoys incorporating innovative technology into today's new media while maintaining the highest possible production values.  After completing his master's degree, Dan received a certification in video editing from Bowling Green University.

Barbara Hilton, Assistant to the BC Director

Barbara Hilton oversees day-to-day inquiries, estimates, scheduling, confirmations, and billing of services provided by the Broadcast Center to the Princeton community. She is the liaison to television and radio networks interested in scheduling the broadcast studio for national network interviews. Barbara has spent most of her career working for non-profit organizations. She was Director of Law Enforcement Sponsorship at Special Olympics New Jersey for 12 years. Her career has come full circle, bringing years of project management experience to the Broadcast Center.
