Anna Lewandowska - Bridge Year China

I was born in Poland, but spent my sophomore year of high school as a foreign exchange student in Warroad, MN. Upon my return to Poland I entered an IB school in Poznan and spent my summer vacations learning Spanish and living with host families in Barcelona and Valencia. For the last 2 years I have worked as a volunteer of the “Make a Wish” Foundation in Poland, where I became a vice-coordinator and further developed my interest in volunteering. I always wanted to volunteer abroad, and last year I managed to raise money for the construction of a kitchen for an orphanage in Kenya. In my free time I enjoy literature, theatre, history and en plein air painting. I like to cook and absolutely love Chinese cuisine, what makes my year in China even more exciting. Recently I have grown interested in mountain climbing and this summer I climbed Kilimanjaro. I am enthusiastic about challenges and I believe in the words of D. Brown “Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer”, what hopefully will be true of my attempt to learn Chinese!
