Senegal Volunteer 2013-14
Hi, I'm Kabbas! I was born in the United States, but when I was four years old I moved to Pakistan and consequently lived there for seven years till I returned when I was eleven. This dichotomy of eastern and western upbringing and culture engendered an appreciation of culture within me that continues to motivate me to this very day. I graduated from Delbarton School, and participated in Forensics where I came to love matters of public policy. The book Mountains Beyond Mountains inspired me to take a more active role in service and to expand my horizons beyond what I initially perceived them to be. I’m hoping to get into International Development as a possible career choice and Bridge Year just spoke to me immediately with what it offered. I hope to have a great time in Senegal along with my fellow students. We will no doubt become the best of friends in the coming months as we face this new and exciting challenge.
