Richard Chang - Bridge Year China

Hi! My name is Richard Chang and I am from Holmdel, NJ, a small suburban town about an hour away from Princeton. I just graduated from Holmdel High School, where I participated in newspaper, Model UN, Youth and Government, and the Chinese Culture Club. I also ran on the track and cross country team for three years, a very challenging yet meaningful experience. The most rewarding highlight with my team was winning the Group II State Championship last fall. I was amazed at how our hard work eventually paid off. I love participating and watching sports and my favorite athletes are Ryan Hall and Jeremy Lin. I also enjoy lifting weights, watching Chinese soap operas, and hanging out with my sister. In addition to spending time with family, I take pleasure in serving in my church, reading C.S. Lewis books, and listening to dance music (David Guetta is my favorite DJ). I am overjoyed to have this Bridge Year opportunity, and I am grateful for Princeton and the BYP staff for all their hard work. I know that this will be an empowering, engaging, and enlightening experience, and I am excited for the adventure to come.
