Freshman and Sophomore Advising
Freshman and sophomore years are your opportunity to explore and expand your horizons before focusing on a few areas of specialization. Fortunately, you will have many friendly guides to ease your transition into college and point you in interesting directions.
In the pages here, two of your trusty guides, your residential college dean and director of studies, Dean Stirk and Dr. Lazen, provide you with an introduction to Princeton’s academic resources and opportunities. You will find other valuable introductions to Princeton academics in the Class of 2015 Website, the Undergraduate Announcement, the soon-to-be-released Freshman Academic Guide, the BSE Freshmen Advising site, and the student Insider's Guide to Princeton. Freshmen will also get a chance to meet the many people available to advise you in September, and if you have questions before then, please feel free to contact Dr. Lazen or submit them to the Butler Advising Blog.
