People
Proud as we are of our wonderful architecture, it's the people that really make Butler special. Butler is a broad community composed of students, faculty, and staff who interact with each other both socially and academically. When it opens as a four-year college in Fall 2009, Butler's freshmen and sophomores will be joined in our dorms by approximately 100 juniors and seniors along with ten Resident Graduate Students (RGS's), and a faculty in residence. In addition, Butler's many fellows can sometimes be found in the dining halls and at special events. This proximity affords daily opportunities for diverse community members at different stages of their academic careers to share their experience and wisdom, ask questions, or just casually converse.
Some members of the Butler community play special roles in ensuring that our students are safe, productive, and happy. Fifteen Residential College Advisers (RCA's) live in the dorms with the freshmen and sophomores and provide friendly care and guidance. If you have a question about anything, they're a good place to start. In addition, faculty advisers, AB peer advisers and BSE interactors, offer academic advice and assistance, The College Council is the student body that organizes special social and cultural events such as the trips to New York. Last but not least, the College staff is available to assist you with all your questions and needs, so please don't hesitate to come see us!
