Molecular Biology
French and Creative Writing
aistrate@princeton.edu
Hello, Princeton! I’m Ana, a molecular biology major from Deerfield, a suburb just north of Chicago. I’m concentrating in molecular biology, completing a creative writing thesis in poetry, and also pursuing a French certificate, so if you ever feel caught between the sciences, the humanities, and/or the arts, I would be happy to talk to you about the balancing act so many of us perform around here. Questions about the strange life of the pre-med student are also welcome. On campus, I’m regularly involved in the Princeton Premed Society, the Nassau Literary Review, WPRB 103.3 FM News and Culture (tune in to our news show during the academic year, Mondays at 6), and the Butler Art Gallery Board, so feel free to approach me about any of these organizations. I also volunteer weekly at the beautiful new medical center in Plainsboro. In my free time, I enjoy living in lab, dabbling in the arts, and having long dinner conversations in English, Romanian, or French. So, please sit down with me sometime: I’ll be happy to see you!
