ACC Accomplishments to date:
The Alcohol Coalition Committee began to implement the strategic plan. Some successes:
- Conversation about high risk drinking have begun
- Engaged many parts of the University community
- Stakeholder meetings generated many ideas and suggestions
- Beginning to impact the culture of process and how to address high risk drinking on campus
- Viewed by students as an initiative that welcomes student input
- Added questions : senior exit survey addressing impact of alcohol use and the Princeton experience
- Named co-chairs and established a January to December leadership cycle
- Summer Education working group: pilot program orientation fall ‘08
- Completed ACC membership 2008-09, 2009-2010
- Established working groups to address themes generated from 2008 Strategic Plan and workshops
- Winter 2009 Completed and distributed alcohol informational booklet, Just The Facts, to all undergraduate students
- Fall 2009 distributed updated Just The Facts to all freshmen
- Fall 2008 sponsored a workshop: The University's Alcohol Policy and Enforcement: What Works and What Doesn't
- Spring 2009 sponsored a seminar inviting colleagues from 17 schools in a conversation on "High Risk Drinking: Catalyzing a Culture Change"
- Alcohol Q and A from Public Safety, Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students and University Health Services post on the ACC website
- Spring 2009 Presentations to ULC, CPUC and Healthier Princeton Advisory Board
- The ACC is an ongoing initiative sponsored by the Vice President for Campus Life
