In September 2005, Princeton University began a two-year campus planning process. When complete, the plan will ensure that the next ten years of growth is designed within the context of a clear vision for the campus and its role in the community. It will emphasize sustainable growth, supported by improvements to infrastructure and open space and sensitive to the natural environment. It will balance development critical to the vitality of a major teaching and research institution with the preservation of the qualities that make the historic campus one of our most beloved and special places. The planning process provides a unique opportunity to step back and examine the campus from many points of view, creating a forum for dialogue both within the University community and with our neighbors.
