General Information
Dillon Gym opened in 1947 on the site of the former gymnasium that was destroyed by fire. Once the home of varsity athletics, Dillon is now the headquarters for the Campus Recreation program. In addition, Dillon is the home venue for men's and women's varsity volleyball and wrestling matches.
Activity Area Descriptions
Main Gym Floor: Dillon Gym's main floor consists of 4 multi-use courts (Basketball, volleyball & badminton). The Dillon Gym main floor is the site for all men's and women's varsity volleyball home contests, as well as all home wrestling matches.
Squash Courts: Dillon Gym has 5 international squash courts, 6 American squash courts and 1 doubles squash court.
Dillon Pool: The Dillon Pool is 25 yards long and consists of 6 lanes. Its primary function is as a site for recreational swimming. DeNunzio Pool is the home of the varsity swimming and water polo teams.
Stephens Fitness Center: The fitness center is a bi-level facility, approximately 8,000 square feet in size. It contains cardiovascular and selectorized equipment, as well as free weights. In addition, the Cardio Annex with 800 square feet of additional cardio space was opened in August, 2008.
Group Fitness Room: A 3200 square foot activity room with matted floor that serves as a site for numerous instructional programming offerings, as well as Sport Club and other student activity group practices.
Multi-Purpose Room: A 2500 square foot activity room with wood flooring that serves as a site for numerous instructional programming offerings and martial arts classes, as well as Sport Club and other student activity group practices.
Dance Studio: A 1280 square foot activity room with wood floor and mirrored walls that serves as a site for for numerous instructional programming offerings, as well as other student activity group practices.
Martial Arts Room: A 1250 square foot room with matted floor and walls, as well as two 100 pound punching bags and one speed bag. The Martial Arts Room serves as a site for various martial art Sport Club practices and various instructional programs.
Spinning Room: Dillon Gym has a dedicated spinning room with 14 bikes. Participants must be registered for spinning in order to attend a class. This room is not open outside of scheduled class sessions.
