Lacrosse (Men's)

The Princeton Men’s Club Lacrosse team has a roster of approximately forty players, nearly all of who played varsity lacrosse in high schooll.  While we are competitive and typically have some very talented players, students of all skill levels (even beginners) are welcome to join - there are no tryouts.   Self-coached and entirely student run, the team plays a limited Fall Ball schedule (3-4 events) to prepare for its busy spring season.

We compete in the Liberty division of the National College Lacrosse League (NCLL) against top club teams from colleges up and down the east coast.   In recent years, major rivals have included Penn, Fordham, West Chester, and Villanova.   In the spring season, we typically practice twice a week and play 2-3 games every weekend.   We also go on one or two overnight trips to participate in tournaments, in addition to participating in the NCLL Playoffs.

In 2008, after winning the Liberty Division, the club advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCLL Playoffs, where it fell to eventual national champion Maryland.   We hope to improve on this success in our 2009 campaign.   Other highlights of our spring season include a trip to Baltimore coinciding with the Face-Off Classic, the Beltway Bash tournament in College Park, and our annual Princeton Invitational Tournament/Spring Family Day.

The 2008–09 team officers are:   Mike Ryan ’09 (President/Captain), Ben Peretsman ’10 (Vice President/Captain), Rob Edmiston ’11 (Social Chair), Patrick Wendell ’11 (Tournament Coordinator), Tony Trenga ’11 (Gear Chair), and Brandon Hemmelgarn ’10 (IM Chair.)

Please contact Ben Peretsman (bperetsm@) if you are interested in joining the team or simply learning more about it
