Rugby (Mens)
The Men's Rugby Club is one of the most competitive and successful at Princeton. Winning the university's "2008 Sport Club of the Year" award, the club has a membership of over 40 students. We field two to three teams every weekend, and everybody plays. We compete against all the Ivy schools (Ivy League Champions in 2004) as well as other colleges in our area. We regularly spend a week over the winter mid-term break on a foreign tour. In the past 6 years, Princeton has been to Ireland, Argentina, Trinidad and Barbados. We have two highly experienced top-level coaches and also benefit from a strong, supportive alumni organization.
We welcome all serious athletes who are looking to play a team- oriented physical sport. Rugby combines many aspects of football, soccer, and basketball. Most importantly no experience is needed. We have a fall and spring season and welcome new players throughout the year. Come out and give rugby a try. If you do, we know many of you will grow to love the sport and find a welcome home at Princeton as members of the university rugby club.
