University of Edinburgh Information Session
Learn about opportunities for graduate study in Great Britain. Guest speaker, Tom McGlew of the University of Edinburgh (currently ranked as the sixth best university in Europe) will explain the structure of graduate work in Britain.

Tom will also explain the difference between `taught` and research-focused masters degree programs; what British universities look for in American applicants; how long it takes to complete a degree; how much graduate study costs in Britain; and what possibilities exist for financial aid. (Tom is an American who has made his academic career in Britain. Until recently he was Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Chair of the Sociology Department at the University of Edinburgh. Although a social scientist, he is able to discuss any of the postgraduate course offerings available at Edinburgh.)
