Welcome Graduate Students

The Office of Career Services is here to support you throughout your entire graduate career, whether you are considering a career inside or outside the academy, or both. Careers inside the academy include positions as faculty, administrators, or researchers. Outside of the academy, you may be working as a researcher in industry or in government, as a consultant, writer or editor, or any number of options.

Many times the lines between inside and outside are fluid; you may find yourself using your skills in both academic and non-academic environments. It is not uncommon for academics to transition out of the academy at some point in their career, applying their knowledge and expertise to a range of problems and organizations. Your graduate education provides you with the flexibility and skills to pursue both academic and expanded options. We are available to help you assess your skills, interests, values, and experiences as you explore careers that might be an ideal match for you.

Career Counselors are also available to provide concrete support throughout the job search and application process. From curriculum vitas (CVs) and resumes to interviews and networking, our staff can help you with specific feedback, tips, and resources.

There is a dedicated Graduate Career Counselor, Amy L. Pszczolkowski, with whom you can schedule an appointment. Call (609) 258-3325, to set up a 30-minute individual appointment. All graduate students, including post-enrolled students, are eligible to use Career Services.
