Carter Named 2014 Linnett Visiting Professor at Cambridge

Emily A. Carter, Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment and an associated faculty member in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, was the 2014 Linnett Visiting Professor of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge during February.  While at Cambridge, she presented three talks: “Running Combustion Backwards: Fuels from Sunlight, From First Principles” (February 11), “Quantum Mechanics without Wavefunctions” (February 12), and “(Photo)electrocatalysis: Theory and Mechanisms of Charge Transfer at Metal Surfaces” (February 17).  This professorship was established in 1993 at the University of Cambridge in the memory of Vice-Chancellor John Wilfrid Linnett.
