Aksay Interviewed by Chemical & Engineering News

This week’s issue of Chemical & Engineering News, the member magazine of the American Chemical Society, features an article on the emerging new generation of supercapacitors, which are aiming to power a broad range of electronic devices, and may even find use in vehicles.  Included in that article is a four-column-inch excerpt from an interview with Ilhan Aksay, Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, describing the functionalized graphene invented in his laboratory (now produced by Vorbeck Materials) and its potential applications in supercapacitors.  Functionalized graphene could hold two to three times the charge of activated carbon, the current material of choice.  For those with subscriber or library access to C&EN, read the full story.
