Carter to Receive Hirschfelder Prize in Theoretical Chemistry

Emily Carter, Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment, Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Applied and Computational Mathematics, Founding Director of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment, and an associated faculty member in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, has won the 2015-16 Joseph O. Hirschfelder Prize in Theoretical Chemistry, sponsored by the Theoretical Chemistry Institute in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.   Carter, an expert in ab initio electronic structure theory, will receive the prize in Madison during October 19-21, and will deliver a scientific lecture on each of those days.
