Laurencin '80 to receive National Medal of Technology and Innovation

Cato Laurencin '80 is one of the latest recipients of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, as announced by a White House press release. The award "recognizes those who have made lasting contributions to America’s competitiveness and quality of life and helped strengthen the Nation’s technological workforce.” Dr. Laurencin is a University Professor at the University of Connecticut, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut Institute for Clinical and Translational Science and Director of the Institute for Regenerative Engineering. President Obama will honor the medal recipients at a ceremony in the White House scheduled to take place on Jan. 22, 2016.
