Floudas named Stephen C. Macaleer '63 Professor in Engineering and Applied Science
Professor Christodoulos A. Floudas has been named the Stephen C. Macaleer ’63 Professor in Engineering and Applied Science, Professor of Chemical Engineering. Professor Floudas joined Princeton’s chemical engineering faculty in February 1986. He is affiliated with the Center for Quantitative Biology, the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics, and the Department of Operations Research & Financial Engineering. Professor Floudas’ research focuses on mathematical modeling and optimization of complex systems at the macroscopic and microscopic level. He is the author of two graduate textbooks, more than 200 refereed publications, seven co-edited monographs/books and serves as chief co-editor of the Encyclopedia of Optimization. His awards include the 1997 Bodossaki Foundation Award in Applied Sciences; the 2001 AIChE Professional Progress Award for Outstanding Progress in Chemical Engineering, and the 2006 AIChE Computing in Chemical Engineering Award.
