Second Edition of Floudas' "Encyclopedia of Optimization" to publish in 2008
The much-awaited second edition of the “Encyclopedia of Optimization”, edited by Christodoulos Floudas of Princeton and Panos Pardalos of Florida, will appear in October 2008. Published by Springer, this comprehensive seven-volume set will contain over 700 entries spanning more than 4000 pages. The Encyclopedia aims to provide a complete set of topics showing the spectrum of research, the richness of ideas, and the breadth of applications that has come from the optimization field. Written for students, scientists, engineers, and researchers in academia, industry, and government, both traditional print and on-line versions of the Encyclopedia will be available.
As with the first edition, edited by Floudas and Pardalos in 2001, contributors to the encyclopedia are leading experts in the field. The new edition contains over 150 new entries, with particular attention to recent developments in the health science and transportation areas.
