Carter Elected Member of International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science

Emily Carter, Arthur W. Marks ’19 Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Associated Faculty in Chemical Engineering, has been elected to membership in the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science, as one of only six new members inducted in 2009. The Academy, which was founded in 1967 under Nobel Laureate Louis de Broglie, provides a forum for international collaboration and evaluation of research advances and promising directions in quantum molecular science. Members are selected worldwide based on their scientific work, specifically for a pioneering role in the application of quantum mechanics to the study of molecules or macromolecules.
