Nelson to Receive the 2011 AIChE Colburn Award

Celeste Nelson, Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, will receive the 2011 Allan P. Colburn Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) at the AIChE Honors Ceremony on October 16, during the 2011 AIChE Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. The award, sponsored by DuPont, is given to AIChE members under the age of 36 who have exhibited excellence in publications. Nelson is being honored “for developing pioneering lithographic tissue engineering and computational methods to elucidate the biomechanical and biochemical mechanisms underlying the spatial and temporal evolution of functional organs.” Nelson joins three other current Princeton CBE faculty who have received this award in prior years: Lynn Loo (2006), Thanos Panagiotopoulos (1995), and Yannis Kevrekidis (1994).
