Johnson *88 Named ASU's Engineering Dean

Paul C. Johnson *88, has been named Dean of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, effective January 1, 2011. The 7 Fulton Engineering Schools enroll over 4000 undergraduates and 2000 graduate students. Johnson received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton in 1988, working with Professor Roy Jackson, and was a Senior Research Engineer at Shell prior to joining ASU in 1994. Johnson’s research is in environmental engineering, particularly contaminant fate and migration in the environment. Examples include the development and analysis of processes for soil and groundwater remediation, and risk and exposure assessment. Johnson has also served in a number of administrative positions at ASU, including Associate Vice President for Research. For more details, see ASU’s announcement of the appointment.
