Structural grids include airframes, bridges, tall buildings, gridshells, skeletons, tension nets and concrete reinforcement.
This lecture will discuss ways in which grids can be designed, particularly those with complex geometry and unconventional modes of structural action. This is an analysis problem in which the unknown is the geometry and topology of the structure.
