Lei Tao, a postdoctoral research associate working with Professor Mark Zondlo, won top honors at Princeton University's eighth annual Innovation Forum sponsored by the Keller Center to showcase University research with commercial potential.

An interesting cover story in "Optics & Photonics News" features Professor Branko Glisic's research on optic-fiber technology in structural health monitoring and the Streicker Bridge. It is titled "Sensing Trouble: Fiber Optics in Civil Engineering".
Dan Li, CEE graduate student, has received the Outstanding Student Paper Award at the 2012 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting held in December 2012 in San Francisco, CA. His paper was titled "Hydro-meteorological and microclimatic impacts of urbanization". Congratulations to Dan!
The department is pleased to announce that several members of our department are the recipients of the Outstanding Teaching Awards for the Fall 2012 semester. Professor Michael Celia received his award for CEE 581, Theory of Groundwater Flow , and Gordana Herning for CEE567, Advanced Design and Behavior of Steel Structures.
