CEE Faculty and Students Lead Reunion Activities
<> David Billington, Gordon Y. S. Wu Professor of Engineering and Professor Civil and Environmental Engineering, will be hosting two reunions events on Friday, May 30. At 9:15 AM in McCormick 101 Professor Billington will serve as moderator for the Alumni-Faculty Forum: Do We Take Our Infrastructure for Granted? Later in the day, at 3:00 PM in the Friend Center for Engineering Education, Convocation Room, Professor Billington will present a lecture entitled “Modern Engineering and the Transformation of Society”. He will present engineering innovation in the context of American history, the politics of public works and the structural engineer as artist.
In addition to Professor Billington’s activities, Ted Segal, a CEE Graduate Student will serve on a panel discussion about the activities of Engineers Without Borders. Meet and hear from a dynamic group of students dedicated to applying their knowledge from the classroom and laboratory to address local and international challenges in a sustainable manner. This talk will take place in the Computer Science Auditorium 104 at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 30.
