Lauren Crandell Wins the AEESP 2011 Student Poster Award

Lauren Crandell, 4th year PhD student, won the AEESP 2011 Student Poster Award at the 2011 AEESP Education and Research Conference, Tampa, FL, July 2011.  Her presentation was titled "Changes in the pore network structure of Hanford sand after reaction with caustic tank wastes". 

Lauren was one of 11 students to win an award out of a total of 138 presenters. This work is part of a project led by Prof. Catherine Peters and her colleagues Brent Lindquist (Stony Brook Univ.), Wooyong Um (PNNL) and Keith Jones (Brookhaven National Lab), funded by the U.S. DOE through the Subsurface Biogeochemical Research program.
