On September 29, 2011, Dr. B. Gail McLean, Program Manager, DOE Office of Basic Energy Sciences conducted a site visit of the CEFRC, headquartered at Princeton University, Princeton, NJ.
2011 Princeton-CEFRC Summer School Group Picture

140 graduate students and research professionals from 25 states across the U.S. attended the 2nd Annual Princeton-CEFRC Summer School in Combustion, hosted by Princeton University from June 26th to July 1st. The three courses offered were Combustion Theory, Combustion Chemistry, and Advanced Laser Diagnostics, taught respectively by the eminent combustion scientists Professor Moshe Matalon of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Professor Michael J. Pilling of the University of Leeds, UK, and Professor Marcus Aldén of Lund University, Sweden.

A farewell dinner was held at the new chemistry building on the last evening of the 2011 Princeton-CEFRC Summer School. The image in the background is that of Chemistry Professor Edward C. Taylor, inventor of the chemotherapy drug Pemetrexed (brand name Alimta) for the treatment of lung cancer. Royalties for this drug enabled the construction of this building.
2010 Princeton-CEFRC Summer School Group Picture - Inaugural Year

122 graduate students and research professionals representing 36 universities, 4 national labs and major corporations from across the U.S. attended the 1st Annual Princeton-CEFRC Summer School in Combustion, hosted by Princeton University from June 27th to July 3rd. The course in Combustion Theory was delivered by Professor Norbert Peters of the RWTH Aachen in Germany, and the course in Combustion Chemistry was jointly delivered by Dr. Charles K. Westbrook of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Dr. Stephen J. Klippenstein of the Argonne National Laboratory.
