Muir and Semmelhack receive Arthur C. Cope Scholar Awards
Aug 20, 2012. Washington, D.C. The American Chemical Society (ACS) announced today that Tom Muir, the Van Zandt Williams Jr. Class of 1965 Professor of Chemistry; and Martin Semmelhack, Professor of Chemistry and Associate Chair; are 2013 recipients of Arthur C. Cope Scholar Awards. Ten Cope Scholar Awards are given annually "to recognize and encourage excellence in organic chemistry."
The award consists of $5,000 and a $40,000 unrestricted research grant. Recipients deliver an awards address at the 2013 Arthur C. Cope Symposium in September 2013 in conjunction with the fall national meeting of the ACS in Indianapolis.
