Carter honored by L'Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne
Oct 6, 2012. Lausanne, Switzerland. Associated faculty member Emily Carter, the Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment, Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Applied and Computational Mathematics, and Director of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment has been awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by L'Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. According to the citation, Professor Carter was awarded this honor, "For advances in the development of fundamental density functional theories and multiscale quantum methods, and for the insights their applications have into surface chemistry and mechanical behavior of metals."
